Gernon Bushes Nature Reserve is managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust. The 79 acre site is the last remnant of the old Coopersale Common, and contains ancient coppice with spring bogs, many ancient hornbeam pollards, some more recent woodland, and a network of ponds.
