This was a WWI barrack room, bought at a sale by Ernest and Martha Elizabeth Pierpoint in 1920, in which they based their furniture, clothing and drapery business which formerly traded from Audley Market Hall. Their granddaughter retired in 1999 and sold the business which became Audley Furnishings, but this has gone and the 'long green building' appears sadly dilapidated.
