In an attempt to off-set the dreaded leaf-fall problems on gradients, Network Rail have embarked on a clearance project. Overgrown cuttings are being stripped back almost to the fence boundary of any substantial wooded growth. One of the benefits is that viewpoints are being restored to a point that had disappeared since the Second World War. This cutting lies to the west of Gonerby Grange on the rail line from Allington to Ancaster.
