I can't find a name for this lake between Brogborough and Lidlington. It looks to have been the result of former gravel extraction, and now, according to the map, is used for sailing though no boats were in evidence when I took this photo. It covers an area of about 72 hectares (178 acres) according to magic.defra.gov.uk, so is quite a substantial lake. [Edit] (This information from John Andel) It is actually called Brogborough Lake, even though it lies in the Lidlington Parish boundary. It is used for sailing, but of the windsurfing kind only. It is the base of Brogborough Boardsailing Club. see http://www.broglake.co.uk It is actually 220 acres in size, and home to massive pike, carp and bream amongst others, Ampthill angling club have the fishing rights.
