Taken from the steps leading down to the village on the Cleveland Way. The large building in the foreground is the former Sandsend Hotel [now apartments] which is listed in my 1955 AA handbook as being 3 star with 40 rooms, and boasting hot and cold water in rooms - all for either 10 or 14 guineas per week.
