Former village school, now the White Monk tearoom, built c.1860 in free C13th style, probably by S S Teulon who was responsible for Hunstanworth, the planned village in Durham. It has one storey and an irregular cruciform plan with gabled porches and is constructed from coursed rubble with a steeply pitched green slate roof with gabled dormers.
