Name and date on a row of terraced houses Image on what is now Dowson Road. When the houses were built this was called Swains Street which ended at the junction with Kirkley Street and Markland Street. When the road was extended c.1930 to The Gerrards, bypassing Gee Cross Village, Swains Street became part of Dowson Road.
