This is one of Gloucester's hidden gems, apparently unknown both to Tripadvisor and to the Gloucester tourist information centre (or at least to its webmaster). The ceiling in the upper floor of A G Meek's shoe shop is decorated with plasterwork dating from about the year 1600. I was just itching to move the Lotus display stand, but I managed to restrain myself. Full marks to the shop for preserving the plaster and to its staff for welcoming people more interested in plasterwork than footwear.
