In World War 1 this was the drill hall of the 4th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry (HQ, A & B Companies). It does not appear to be in use for any purpose now. [2018 update: not long after this photograph was taken, the building was demolished and a dull-looking block of student accommodation was put in its place.]
