The light railway from Elsenham to Thaxted crossed here. The earthworks here must have been minimal, as it was very hard to decide the exact course of the route, not having an old map to hand. A clue is the short length of fence on the right, filling in the gap in the hedge line. All level crossings except one on the goods line at Elsenham were ungated.
