There is an automatic sliding gate at this point which suggests the road to the left is private, although the OS Maps show it as a public road. Also the Google Street View car-cam went to the very end of this dead end road. However, according to a planning application in June 2012 the entire length of Cook's Road is owned by P.C. Thorold Ltd
