This is one of two short stretches of crinkle-crankle or crinkum-crankum wall in Church Lane. The serpentine style of wall is much more stable than a conventional straight wall, so it requires fewer bricks to build. Such walls are commonest in Suffolk, but there are scattered examples elsewhere.
