Building with three dates, Peebles

This end building by the Cuddy (Eddleston Water) has three date plaques; 1736 (middle), Re-erected 1872 (top) and 1984 (bottom). The building originally housed a merchants business, later became the 'Virgin Inn', and within living memory was a café, before its present guise as a gallery, picture framing and artwork business. Acknowledgements to Stuart Akers for this information, from his 'Lost Buildings Tour' of the town held as part of Peebles Arts Festival.
