This tree-lined track (Blackthorn Lane) leads walkers and cyclists towards its northern-most end where it empties out into Manor Road, within a mile. Since occasional official signs along the track ahead indicate that various fields, buildings and facilities belong to The University of Leicester, it would seem likely that this is a permissive path only. In the opposite direction, pedestrians and cyclists can access "Quickthorns", a network of short, stubby roads that serve a new housing development (2 mins away) or the southern-most end of Blackthorn Lane at the point where it empties out into Whitebeam Lane (4-5 mins away).
