The former Home Ales Brewery on the main Mansfield-Nottingham road (the A60) is seen here from the former Daybrook Laundry site. This Grade II-listed building - dating from 1936 - with its unusual putti (cherubic) frieze by the sculptor Charles Doman is now officially known as "Sir John Robinson House". It boasts over 30,000 sq.ft (2,800 m2) of office space, much of which is currently occupied by council staff. The Daybrook Laundry site is currently being re-developed by the ALDI as a new supermarket.
