Sandmarsh Cottage, the left hand section of this building, dates from the early 19th century and was until the second half of that century it was the only building on Sandmarsh Road, as Queen's Road was originally called (the Welsh name of the road is Morfa Mawr, which translates into English as the great coastal marsh, indicating the type of land on which it was built). Grade II listed - see http://cadwpublic-api.azurewebsites.net/reports/listedbuilding/FullReport?lang=en&id=10381. The section on the right used to house one of Aberystwyth's earliest garages.
