See Image] Chesterfield received its market charter in 1204. The Victorian Market Hall was originally built in 1857 'for the shelter and safeguard of market people'. It is a Grade II listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 83409 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-83409-the-market-hall-derbyshire British Listed Buildings) The hall has recently undergone a multi-million pound refit and reopened at the end of October 2013.
