Opened in 1858 on the London Brighton & South Coast Railway line from East Croydon to Lewes via Oxted, this station closed in 1991 when it was replaced by a more utilitarian structure behind the camera position. View south west towards Isfield and Lewes along the former southbound platform. The stump of an old platform light appears to remain in the centre of the image.
