Hawarden Drill Hall was built for the 1914/18 war for the 5th Battalion, Royal Welch Fusiliers (B Company). It was built on a green field site at the end of what was called, until the 1960s, Drill Hall Lane. The lane, which is a cul-de-sac, is now named Groomscroft. The building is now used as Hawarden Youth and Community Centre. See also: Image and Image
