A small postbox clasped to a wooden post, an ever rarer practice as metal poles are now the only fixtures used for lamp boxes fitted today, and numerous boxes on wooden fixings are being replaced. It serves the scattering of properties to the northwest of the main village, on Hatchet Lane, the main B3056 towards Lyndhurst.
