Anti-social driving and use of E-scooters in Millom Town Centre and Haverigg with main locations reported as Horn Hill (near junction to Moor Road and North Lane Kirksanton, Silecroft, The Green & The Hill

Liaised with Collision reduction and safer highways
We will be in the area carrying out speed check.
Speed strips added across road at The Green and The Hill to collect traffic data.
Speed awareness using community speed gun
High visability patrols around Millom including Old Ironworks Nature Reserve and local footpaths (off road bikes and quadbikes)
Off road motor bike located and Seized by officers
Information received of hot spot location which will be targeted by officers
Traffic monitoring strips implemented in main identified areas
Numerous vehicles stopped and appropriate action taken

We continue to get request to target areas in and around Millom, Haverigg and rural areas

On 18/12/2023 several vehicles issued with Obstruction notices following poor parking

Conducted static speed checks at The Green, The Hill and Kirksanton

09/02/2024 vehicle seized following driving offences

08/02/2024 E- Scooter seized no insurance

17/03/2024 two E-scooters seized no Insurance

09/04/2024 Vehicle causing nuisance due to loud exhaust stopped and driver dealt with accordingly

Aware Town council have highlighted Irionworks is a “Nature Reserve” in local media and as such NO motorbikes/scrambler bike-quad bikes are allowed

Location actively patrolled

Aware Town council have highlighted Irionworks is a “Nature Reserve” in local media and as such NO motorbikes/scrambler bike-quad bikes are allowed

Identified where offending vehicles are from and visits conducted

Total of 7 hours High visibility patrol at this location

Police continue to target the area and are carrying out enquiries to identify offenders
