Opened in 1860 by the Stratford-on-Avon Railway, soon to become part of the Great Western Railway, on the line from Hatton to Stratford, this station closed in 1939 when it was replaced by a new station immediately behind the camera position - see Image View north east towards Hatton. The station is gone but the former stationmaster's house appears to survive, on the left.
