There is a rough path along an embankment of what appears to be a former railway line. The Wemyss Coal Company Railway, also known as the "Wemyss Private Railway" or "Mr Wemyss Private Railway", had a number of lines in the area. These had been built to transport coal to the docks at Methil. The Wemyss family were apparently not content with the service provided by the North British Railway,
