Beith Auld Kirk was built in 1593 with the Clock being added in 1800. There’s a tomb inside this clock tower where headstones line the wall while the large grave stones cover the floor https://www.flickr.com/photos/its-all-pretty-cool_dot-com/14128446037/in/set-72157644533138818. The marble stone was moved to where it stands now, much like this old kirk was moved leaving these old building and stones. The now graveyard's claim to fame is tied with John Witherspoon who signed US Declaration of Independence. https://www.flickr.com/photos/its-all-pretty-cool_dot-com/14132620617/in/photostream One of John’s descendants is the US actress Reese Witherspoon. Beith info : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beith This Grave yards normally closed so a huge thanks goes out to Tom Hart, Vice Chair, Beith Cultural and Heritage Society https://www.flickr.com/photos/its-all-pretty-cool_dot-com/14143779640/in/photostream who got me the key from the 1817 built Beith Town House. So that I could photograph these picturesque grounds. The images you can find here on my Flickr page. https://www.flickr.com/photos/its-all-pretty-cool_dot-com/sets/72157644533138818/
