Tarmac and wheeled vehicles have now replaced the rails and trains which ran through this area as part of the Stonehouse to Nailsworth Railway. Behind this Geographer on a high wall is a plaque marking the site of Dudbridge Station. Opened in 1867 trains travelled this line at a relatively sedate 17 miles per hour, in sharp contrast to the speeds by present day traffic.
