The West Highland Way follows the road here. The John Muir Way and cycle route NCN 7 follow the foreground part of the road, but then branch off to the left at the sign that can be seen not far ahead: Image / Image The farm track on the right is also indicated on the 1:25000 map, which shows it extending for almost a kilometre to the north from this gate. (Specifically, the online version of the 1:25000 mapping shows this: it includes revised details that do not appear on the printed map that I used on my walk; that map shows a much shorter track here.)
