This is the bottom of the mill beyond the door and shows the bottom of the cast iron mainshaft and the bevel gears driving the turbine pump outside. The ratio of the gears increases the speed of the sails to that of the pump, which runs considerable fasrer (the ratio is the other way round for a scoop wheel mill).
