Paths comes from near the Grandstand, and cross the racecourse twice and the open downland in between. Clearly these are closed when there is racing or training but at other times the public can wander freely across this airy open space. This view looks from near the start of the racecourse towards the finish by the grandstand which dates from the 1920s.
