No 19, on the corner of Stanford Street, dates from 1776 and is a rebuilding of a grand house built for Viscount Howe, brother of the victor of The Glorious First of June. For a closer look, see Image No 17, next to it, dates from the middle of the century and is now occupied by a wine merchant. The sun had yet to break through on a May morning.
