St Mary's Church, Sculcoates Lane, 1915-16, by Temple Moore, replaced the 18th century parish church, Air Street, demolished in stages between circa 1916 and 1960s. The new church incorporates the Tuscan columns rescued from the old church. The church was incomplete in 1916 and was finished by Leslie Moore, 1925-6. The intended tower was never built.
