Of the two chapels-of-rest, this is the one nearest to the cemetery entrance on Well Hall Road, seen here with houses situated on Dunblane Road in the background. Due to the proximity of the former Royal Herbert (Military) Hospital and two military establishments in Woolwich, i.e. the former Royal Military Academy and the Royal Artillery Barracks, there are numerous army personnel buried hereabouts.
