Opened in 1972 by British Rail, this is the terminus of the line from Birmingham, this station replaced an earlier station some 200m behind the camera position, which became the bus station. The line as built by the Midland Railway had continued south to Gloucester via Alcester. View north west from the buffers. As built, there were 2 sides to the platform and just a waiting shelter. A 1992 rebuild resulted in one longer platform and the building shown on the right, which is on the site of the former Midland Railway goods shed.
