The text below the picture is somewhat difficult to read but is "On April 14th 1944, six Mosquitoes of 613 Squadron (based at this airfield) led by W Cdr Bateson succeeded in a very daring raid on the Gestapo Central Records Registry in The Hague. Releasing the bombs at 50ft, the incendiaries went through the doors and windows, destroying most of the records with few casualties to the nearby civilian population.
