There are two statues on the island overlooked by Turvey bridge. This statue is known as Jonah's Wife. The headless female torso was discovered in a nearby barn and erected in 1953 by the then owner of Turvey Mill (shown in another view within this square and which includes Jonah himself). For some unknown reason a bearded male head was added to the torso - some wife, but she is Grade II listed!
