Built in 1722 as the rectory, with the assistance of Queen Anne's Bounty. Listed Grade II*. The author Samuel Butler, best known for his novel Erewhon, was born here. He was the son of the Rector, Thomas Butler, who was responsible for the major rebuilding of the church in the 1850s.
