Image: © Nigel Thompson Taken: 29 Apr 2014

Opened in 1845 by the Eastern Counties Railway on what is now the line from London Liverpool Street to Cambridge. From 1913 to 1952, this was the junction station for the branch line to Thaxted. View south east towards Stansted and London. The southbound platform can be seen in the distance. For some reason, all the station signs were faded almost to the point of illegibility when this image was taken.
