A view of the Manchester Wheel from the Piccadilly Gardens tram stop. The structure in front is architect Tadao Ando’s dramatic, curved wall which shields the south side of the gardens from the surrounding traffic at the busy bus and tram interchange. It would be fair to say that this is one of the least popular features of Piccadilly Gardens, often being referred to as "charmless" and "Manchester's Berlin Wall" (amongst other less polite phrases) but it does do a pretty good screening job.
