Hackness Hall from the public footpath which passes through pasture and then woodland to the east and south of the Hall, and elevated above it. The nearest field boundary is a ha-ha. The hall was designed in 1791 by Peter Atkinson, but after a severe fire the interior was rebuilt in 1910.
