At the junction with Walton Street, Parker's public house, Nos.354-356 Anlaby Road. Established 1777 as the Wold Carr Inn, later the Newington Hotel. From circa 1901 to the early 1930s, the pub was run by the Parker family, notably Ernest Parker, who also had a local fruit and vegetable shop. The colloquial name Parker’s has been associated with the pub ever since.
