The arcades of shops open out in places into more relaxed spaces like this, all distinguishable (when you get your eye in) by shape, feature and ceiling or skylight treatment. The Kingfisher centre seems too big for a town the size of Redditch, but there are very few shops elsewhere in the town centre – only charity shops, banks, estate agents, betting shops etc. There are several large busy-looking supermarkets out in the Redditch districts. Shops in the local centres present a mixed picture.
