The Croydon & Epsom Railway was opened in 1847 and Ewell East station opened on the same day. The Croydon & Epsom was soon taken over by the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway. This view looks from the footbridge towards Cheam and Sutton. A train for Horsham is approaching the down platform.
