To the north of these stairs is the Great Hall, used daily for dining. In the film "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", Professor McGonagall welcomed Harry to Hogwart's here. The Hall inspired the appearance of Hogwart's Hall and was recreated in a studio.
