HMS Cavalier was built in East Cowes by White's. It is the last remaining World War II Royal Navy destroyer. This propeller came from her and was erected in the town by Southern Water at the completion of their drainage works here in 1994 http://www.isle-of-wight-memorials.org.uk/others/eastcowescavalier.htm
