Located to the north of the village of Falmer and to the east of the main university campus. Originally a field called Old Forge according to Falmer's 1840 tithe map, after the Second World War it became Old Forge Nursery until acquired by the University of Sussex during the 1960s. Since 1999 the playing fields have been shared with Brighton & Hove Albion who have used both the fields and the Falmer Sports Complex as their training ground, an arrangement which will cease in the summer of 2014 when the club will move to a new purpose built training ground outside Lancing.
