All the name panels (including those on the structure in front with all the Second World War dead) and the angel figure have been wrapped in thick, black polythene sheeting. My guess is that the stonework is going to be cleaned by sandblasting to commemorate the centenary of the start of World War One. If true, they will need to re-tape the angel's wings.
