Only the Old Grammar School (centre) and the building to its right remain to identify this scene as Hales Street. On the left were the 1930s buildings at the bottom of Trinity Street and, beyond them the Smithfield Hotel. On the right were the Mattersons general household goods store and the Apollo Theatre (originally the Hippodrome, later Coventry Theatre) demolished in 2002 ( Image] ). Just heading into Trinity Street is a van of a former local stationers and office supplies store, JE Parbury Ltd. In 2014: Image]
