Plaque at Effingham Junction Station

This plaque records the official opening of Effingham Junction's new station building in 2012. Alan Williams (the 'sage of Effingham') is well known among railway people for his very long running, sometimes acerbic but always well-informed column in Modern Railways magazine. For many years he commuted from this station but has now moved to Yorkshire.
