Seen in late afternoon March sunlight. The dining hall at Peterhouse was completed in 1290 and has in continuous use by Fellows and students for over 720 years. It was restored (magnificently) in the late 1860s, and I presume the decorative chimney stack dates from that time. Peterhouse is the oldest (and smallest) of the traditional colleges which now make up Cambridge University. It was founded in 1284.
