Ruined Jetty by the River Dee #1

This ruined jetty is not shown on the 1882 O.S.map, so must have been constructed later as industry developed in the area. Its size suggests that it was important, and the curve suggests that a rail line may have gone out onto the jetty to allow for the speedy loading of cargo onto the vessels. The massive timbers are rotting away slowly and no doubt the jetty will disappear completely in time. See also Image and Image
