Grade II Listed as late 16th century. The museum's website dates the buildings to 1550. No.16 known as Cromwells presumably because Cromwell's troops reputedly used it in 1651 during the Battle of Upton. 1909 land tax documents give the owner of number 16 as F W Godfrey of Tewkesbury but occupied by Mr Betteridge. The value of the property is £160.00 with a rateable value of £8. Pevsner describes them as 'good c16-c17 timber-framed house' and tells us they were restored by Henry Gorst in 1975. Planning approved repairs to the timber frame front elevation in December 2018.
